Just over a month after delivering an all-action encounter at Liverpool’s Echo Arena featuring crowd favourite, Tony Bellew, and Norwich’s Danny Macintosh, Coldwell Promotions are set to deliver another explosive battle as Curtis Woodhouse tackles Dale Miles in an eliminator for Darren Hamilton’s Lonsdale 10st crown this Friday (June 8th) at Rotherham’s Magna Centre. Show organiser Dave Coldwell is confident that the exciting pair can deliver an epic contest.
“After putting on shows in this sport for nine years, this is easily the most thrilling fight that I’ve ever done” revealed Coldwell. “Their styles are going to gel and I just can’t wait to take my seat at ringside and watch these two put on a classic. After speaking with Curtis, I can tell everyone that he’s going in there to put a show on and all he’s been talking about is “throwing bombs” and “testing chins.” Fans are going to be talking about this for a long time.”
As well as the aforementioned collision, Coldwell is also eager to sound out a number of young prospects who will be providing support to Friday’s main event. Rotherham’s Nav Mansouri puts his unbeaten record on the line against Nathan Graham and Hosea Burton has the third outing of his career as he aims keep his perfect ledger intact.
“Nav is a top kid who’s getting better all the time and the sparring that he’s done with WBA welterweight champion, Paulie Malignaggi, has given him a massive boost. Graham comes from Spencer Fearon’s Hard Knocks camp so he’ll be coming to win but I’ve got a good feeling about Nav and I think this is a fight where he can show his quality.”
Coldwell’s praise is also heaped on Manchester’s Burton and the Sheffield-based promoter is adamant that his prized puncher has a gloried future in the game. “Hosea, for me, is one of the brightest young stars in boxing today and there’s not many about who can claim to have the phenomenal power that Hosea has. He’s a fighter that I’m extremely excited about building and I’m looking forward to see how he progresses.”
